Tango Class, Jennas parents arrive, La Boca!

Monday:
I had the most enjoyable morning! I woke up and decided I wanted to explore the city so ran for an hour down the busiest commercial street called Santa Fe. Of course I was the only idiot to pick the busiest street to run on but it was such a fun run! I loved looking at all of the cool stores figured out where Staples is found a few cute places to eat and of course discovered a FROYO place. After my run I found a cool place on one of our guides that I decided I wanted to discover so I walked there alone and had the greatest salad in the cutest cafe called "Santa Sabores".

The afternoon was filled with a Tango class at our school. It is a lot different than I thought it would be and a lot more sexual. The dance is all about feeling and connecting with your partner in a very sexy way where your chests are touching the whole time and eye contact is supposed to be maintained the whole time. I would not say I was by any chance a natural but definitely have started to learn to tango!

Jennas parents arrived and at night they took us to a Parilla- steak house- for some traditional argentine meat. I really enjoyed the T-bone and the baby beef but decided I am not a short ribs fan.

Dinner with the rents!

Tuesday:
I had my first spanish class this morning! I was nervous I was not going to be able to keep up because most of the people in my class have been taking spansh for 5 or more years and I have only taken it for a year but for now I was fine. There are only 8 people in my class so it is a very good learning environment. It was so bizarre to pack a bag with notebooks and start school again!

I looked up a place nearby us that was recommended to eat at. It was an all you can eat salad bar which was delicious! It had grilled eggplant and roasted mushrooms- really all I could ask for.

This afternoon we went on a tour of La Boca! The area where one of the most famous soccer teams- Boca Junior- is from and one of the poorer areas of Buenos Aires. It is located on the water and was a port where many immigrants arrived from. The area was beautiful!! We started in an art museum that was supposed to show us how the people live in the area and were paintings of every day life and of average middle class homes and people. We then got to walk around the city. It was so colorful and really a surreal city. It was also a beautiful day out so it made it so enjoyable!
