Quimbobo and Day at the Ranch

Saturday Night:
We had an incredible dinner at a restaurant called Quimbombo for our Saturday night. Of course reservations were not until 10 and we went straight out from dinner.
The amazing menu...it was definitely a hard choice
They gave us champagne as we waited for our table!

Such a cool looking place!

Ginger Infused Vodka drink- delicious

We got the Arab dips to share...mmmm

My INCREDIBLE Salmon Tataki

Teddy Janelle and Robert

Pardee Jenna and I

We went to a bar called Sugar and had a failed attempt at going to Terrazzos after the cab took us to some sketchy rail road tracks and we refused to go and then ended up just going home...100 pesos later...

At the bar...last picture til my camera died...

Sunday:
And then we had to wake up 3 hours later to get bussed to a ranch with our program for the day. It was a rough wake up and we slept the entire two hour bus ride until we arrived at this beautiful ranch that felt like we had completely left the city of buenos aires and were now in the country side. We were there to witness some of Argentine's historical "Gauchos"- Gaucho is a loose equivalent of the North American "cowboy" and often connotes the 19th century more than the present day; then gauchos made up the majority of the rural population, herding cattle on the vast estancias, and practicing hunting as their main economic activities.

We went on a cattle ride around the ranch

It was a beautiful day out!

It was such a beautiful place!

We were served beef empenadas (again) as we walked in

We were exhausted....

Our very Argentinian Asado (roast)- With chicken, three types of Beef and sausage

We did some dancing with the locals
My dance partner...he was a littttle sweaty

During lunch there were country singers and dancers dancing the Samba

There was an incredible horse performance where this man did a performance on the horse where he would pose in really cool ways with the horse and kiss it and move around all over it. It was absolutely the most bizaar thing I have ever seen and made me kind of uncomfortable watching it but at the same time in AWE.

Such a gaucho

Posing with it

kissing the horse

Standing on it

On top of the horse

Laying on it

Rocking it...

It was quite a relaxing day on the ranch. Most of the time was just sitting around and enjoying the weather with the occasional entertainment of horses and food and music. We were so happy to not go out tonight and just get home and enjoy the comfort of our rooms.
