We arrived at Patagonia after a 3 hour plane ride that took off at 7am (it is still unclear why we took a flight that early) and we were picked up and brought to our hotel "Los Sauces". We had a quick turn around and were brought on a walking tour of our first glacier "Morena". It was INCREDIBLE. From afar it was described by the one and only Debbie as "shaved ice" but as we got to go closer and closer we were able to really see how amazing and indescribable these glaciers were.
wow

We went to a parilla for dinner and had the Grossest trout of all time but had one of the most amazing Malbecs I have tried...that is actually saying a lot!

Great malbec
We woke up to board a bus where we drove to a boat where we were to spend the next 7 HOURS. It was a freezing boat ride in which I did not dress at all appropriately and my toes were icicles the entire time. We played fun games to make time pass like hang man with words like "I am still cold", "tortutre chamber" and "boring boat" and from optimistic rob and his favorite child jenna at the time words like "I love glaicers" (nice spelling dad) and "el calafate". We saw three different glaciers and decided we never need to see another glacier again (so much for that trip to Alaska).

On the boat!

We got back to our hotel, motivated to work out (thanks to mom who casually ran a 10k) and got ready for dinner.
Dinner was one of the most fun and delicious dinners! The chef was extremely outgoing and loved talking to us and bringing us all different appetizers to try...for free! Also he kept bringing all these different sauces and salts and spices to try. It was so fun and felt like the food just kept coming!

You cook the raw meet on the hot rock!

Octopus

Shrimp

All the different spices he just kept bringing out to the table for us to try!

Dad's extremely rich Lamb Ravioli gnocchi

Jennas amazing Lamb

Mine and my moms white salmon...So great especially with our fave Zatar seasoning

We ate these to "Cleanse" our pallet before dessert

He brought us free glasses of Port dessert wine!
After a hearty but delicious meal our waiter insisted we tried the chocolate cake...it may have been the BEST chocolate cake I have ever tried. It was flour less and cold so it was extremely moist almost like a chocolate bar and was accompanied by incredible dulce de leche ice cream...like my mom said "worth every calorie".
WOW: Flourless chocolate cake and dulce de leche ice cream
We woke up for our last morning in Calafate and it was snowing! We went to a delicious restaurant for lunch and had amazing grilled veggies and an egg white omelette before we went to the airport and headed back to Buenos Aires! It was definitely a weekend to be remembered and thanks sooo much mom and dad for taking me to such an incredible place that will be an experience I treasure for the rest of my life!
Snow!
